About Camila Mendoza Lane - Creative Producer
Video producer and creative project manager based in Atlanta, GA — I think of myself as a Creative Translator: someone who combines analytical thinking and creative instinct to turn ideas into reality. My career spans two continents, with credits including the first Latin American presidential Google Hangout, hundreds of musical livestreams, and PR campaigns for brands such as adidas Originals, Johnnie Walker Red Label, Fujifilm, and The British Council.
In the US, I’ve produced 20+ video ad campaigns weekly for leading brands including Stitch Fix, Ruggable, and Parade, bringing the speed and consistency that high-volume commercial work demands. Over a decade in video production, integrated marketing, and brand content development, I've built the kind of editorial judgment that comes from producing at scale: I scope budgets, staff crews, manage vendor relationships, and run post-production pipelines so creative teams can move fast without sacrificing quality.
That same discipline carries into narrative work. My short-film producing credits include Desert Sky (2022), Fish Tank (2023), and Kissing in Class (2023) — all official selections at festivals including DC Shorts, LA Shorts International, and Dances With Films. Trained in TV and film producing at UCLA Extension and grounded in mass communications, I move comfortably between the operational demands of commercial production and the creative collaboration independent film producing requires.
On the branded side, I've led end-to-end video production and marketing campaigns for startups and agencies across fintech, entertainment, gaming, and digital advertising — managing creative development, vendor sourcing, cross-functional workflows, and investor-facing content. Whether producing narrative film, branded video, or multi-platform marketing campaigns, I bring structure, creativity, and momentum to every project: on time, on brand, and built for impact.

Official Selection - DC Shorts International Film Festival 2023
Starring Rai Quartley and Max Carpenter
Synopsis:
A jealous boyfriend wages a comedic battle against his worst enemy: his girlfriend’s acting career. As their Hollywood Hills romance hangs in the balance, Johnson must find a way to reconcile his jealousy, and Mimi must confront the blurred lines between art and reality in this witty exploration of love, trust, and the perils of dating an actor.
My take:This self-funded short film ran on a fixed budget, which meant every creative decision was also a financial one. We built the production around a single location — a cost-control strategy that doubled as a narrative asset reflecting our protagonist's world — and negotiated contracts directly with agents and crew to keep spending lean without cutting corners on talent. With the right 1st AD and DP in place, we executed the entire shoot in two days, hit our hard out, and delivered a completed film on budget. We came in lean enough to bump crew and cast pay with a bonus at wrap.

Synopsis: Cleo embarks on an anxiety and fear-filled journey after coming back to her apartment in Los Angeles, only to discover she’s been evicted, her belongings and pet goldfish left on the curb. The guilt of abandoning her pet haunts her as she moves through the day, while finding refuge and kindness under different roofs.
My take:I joined the production on the first day of principal photography and had to quickly build trust with an already settled crew; to achieve this, I aligned with the Director, 1st AD, and executive producers early on to establish my presence on set with their support. That foundation enabled me to lead the team through creative and technical changes that arose during production, making real-time calls that kept the shoot moving without losing the crew's confidence.

Synopsis: Sky, a space princess caught in a deadly war between magic and technology, has to save her magically gifted son after stealing an enchanted flower that summons an unwanted visitor.
My Take: Shooting in the desert for a fair price adds a lot of production value and requires an investment shift to other areas. For Desert Sky, we identified the cast and crew's needs to survive and properly perform in this inhospitable climate and terrain. We set up spaces to guard against the sun, wind, and heat with proper hydration, enough shade, and fresh food to create a literal oasis that provided the right environment to shoot in the California desert.

My take: While working on my first feature film, I’ve had the opportunity to learn about different aspects that are required to take a movie from creative development to the screen.
I’ve delved into grant applications, tax incentives, and festival applications. At the moment, we are focused on finding financial partners that can take advantage of the
tax certification received from the Colombian Government, and developing strategic partnerships in support of the movie production.
